Diving with a buddy is amazing. You get to share so many wonderful experiences with them, but have you ever thought about diving alone? There are many reasons why you might want to dive alone, however with its rewards also come additional risks. The Self Reliant Diver specialty course will prepare you for just what to expect and how to deal with different diving situations on your own. With the skills you'll develop in this course, not only will you become a competent Self Reliant diver, but a better buddy too.

- Advanced Open Water Diver
- 100 Logged Dives
- 18 Years Old
- Successfully complete a dive skills assessment by a PADI Self-Reliant Diver Specialty Instructor
- Surface marker buoy, such as a delayed surface marker buoy (DSMB) or lift bag with at least 30 metres/100 feet of line
- Redundant gas source – pony cylinder
- Redundant dive computer or depth gauge and bottom timer
- Redundant surface signaling devices (both visual and audible)
- Knife/cutting tool (except where locally prohibited)
- Slate and pencil
- Back-up mask
